If there was ever a series we doubted could be translated into another language without losing its charm, Mo Willems' Elephant and Piggie series (开心小猪和大象哥哥 kāi xīn xiǎo zhū hé dà xiàng gē ge) would be it! However, Chinese translator 戴永翔  has done a great job preserving the essence of Mo Willems' signature style in these translated editions.

Differences between the two Elephant & Piggie book sets we carry: 

Both Elephant & Piggie Book sets are excellent translations that have preserved Mo Willems' books' playfulness, simplicity and humor. There is, however, one main translation difference:  The 17-book set translated the elephant's name "Gerald" phonetically into a Chinese name "杰拉(jié lā), “  while the 5-book set translated "Gerald" into "小象"(xiǎo xiàng Little Elephant).   Although "杰拉(jié lā), " as a translated name, is not considered frequently-used vocabulary,  each character by itself is high frequency character: "杰 (jié, excellent", and 拉(lā, pull).
